Louisville Woman Killed in Fatal Car Accident

A Louisville woman was killed in a deadly car crash early Saturday morning. Melanie Whitfill was operating a Buick traveling eastbound on South Park Drive. For reasons not determined, Whitfill traveled into oncoming traffic around 8 a.m. and collided with a Jeep. Whitfill was killed in the accident and the man in the Jeep was transported to University Hospital with injuries. Police are still investigating what caused the crash.

Although Whitfill is deceased, if it is confirmed that she was at-fault in causing the fatal accident, the injured man will still likely have a civil claim against the estate of the deceased in which he may be able to recover medical expenses and other damages.

We use our blog as a forum to educate the public using real life events. However, we are very sensitive to the fact that these real life events have resulted in a tragedy that will inflict great pain and sorrow on those involved and those close to the victim(s). As such, we understand that they may not approve, and we will immediately remove a post if a victim or their loved ones makes that request.
