A brother and sister from the small Kentucky town of Cloverport in Breckinridge County sustained fatal injuries when the 1977 Chevy Nova in which they were traveling apparently crossed over the center line and into the path of a gasoline tanker truck on U.S. 60 close to Hardinsburg. 28 year old Justin Glisson has been identified as the driver of the Nova and 27 year old Tracy Glisson as a passenger. The wreck happened at approximately 10:55 a.m.
Timothy M. Castlen, 49, drove the tanker truck and also sustained severe injuries requiring emergency medical treatment. Thankfully, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is still early on and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. Obviously, the main question here is what made the Nova cross the centerline, assuming the initial report is true. Was is driver error, or something else such as mechanical failure, shoddy repairs, etc.? Full and complete investigations, including an accident reconstruction, should be the norm in an accident like this one. Hopefully, for all involved in this tragic event, a full and complete investigation takes place and reveals answers to the questions all involved (and their loved ones and surviving family and friends) surely have at this time.
We use our blog as a forum to educate the public using real life events. However, we are very sensitive to the fact that these real life events have resulted in a tragedy that will inflict great pain and sorrow on those involved and those close to the victim(s). As such, we understand that they may not approve, and we will immediately remove a post if a victim or their loved ones makes that request.
