Travel Tents for Babies Recalled Due to Suffocation Risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) has announced a recall of approximately 220,000 PeaPod and PeaPod Plus Travel Beds manufactured by KidCo.

The KidCo PeaPod Travel Beds and PeaPod Plus Travel Beds are small tents for use by infants from birth to 3+ years. The tents have an inflatable air mattress that fits into a zippered pocket underneath the floor of the tent. However, infants and young children can roll off the edge of the inflatable air mattress and become entrapped and suffocate.

The CPSC has received reports of a death of a 5-month-old boy who was found with his face pressed against the side wall of the tent.

The model number can be found on a small tag on the bottom of the product. The following models and corresponding tent fabric colors are part of this recall:
