I-71 Accident Causes Fatality

A fatal accident occured on northbound I-71 just after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The victim, identified as 31 year old Kenneth Goldsmith of Louisville, was driving a white pick-up truck when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the retaining wires in the median. The force of the impact then spun his truck back into traffic where it was hit by another pick-up truck also traveling northbound. Goldsmith was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Goldsmith was an employee of Rescue Rangers, an independent contractor of AAA. He was driving his employer’s vehicle at the time of the collision.

Here at kentuckyinjurylawyerblog.com, we always believe a full and complete investigation should be conducted when serious injuries and deaths occur as the result of a collision. While driver error seems to be the logical cause, other potential causes must be explored. The friends and family of those involved deserve answers to the questions they most certainly have as a result of this tragedy.

We use our blog as a forum to educate the public using real life events. However, we are very sensitive to the fact that these real life events have resulted in a tragedy that will inflict great pain and sorrow on those involved and those close to the victim(s). As such, we understand that they may not approve, and we will immediately remove a post if a victim or their loved ones makes that request.
