Versailles, Indiana Crash Kills One, Injures Another

Indiana State Police are reporting that Mark Wesley Brax, 23, of Columbia, S.C., was eastbound on U.S. Highway 50 just east of the entrance to Versailles State Park when he lost control of his 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix and skidded into the westbound lane, crashing into a 2011 Toyota Highlander driven by Donielle Stewart, 35, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Brax, a student at University of Cincinnati, was pronounced dead at the scene. Stewart sustained leg injuries, including broken ankles.

There was heavy rain at the time of the crash, and police think Brax was driving too fast for the wet road conditions.

Police are still investigating the collision.
