Fairdale High School Employee Charged In Crash That Injured Metro Police Officer

Louisville Metro Police are reporting that Adrian Adkins, 43, an assistant athletic director at Fairdale High School, was intoxicated when the pickup truck he was driving struck another vehicle, which then hit a Louisville Metro Police officer shortly after 2:00 a.m. Sunday. The wreck happened on the Gene Snyder Freeway east of New Cut Road. The officer was stopped at an accident scene, when Adkins’ truck hit one of the vehicles involved. Adkins tried to flee the scene.

The officer’s injuries are non-life-threatening injuries, and his name has not been released.

Adkins was charged with driving under the influence, wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading and resisting arrest.
