Fayette Nursing Homes Receive Latest Rankings
As reported by the Lexington Herald-Leader, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have released the latest federal ratings for Fayette County nursing homes. These rankings indicate how the nursing homes performed on the latest inspection in areas such as staffing and quality of care.
The rankings are as follows: Five stars: much-above-average care. Four stars: above-average care.Three stars: average care. Two stars: below-average care. One star: much-below-average care.
On October 24, 2011 I represented my client, Irene Hendrix, in a case of neglect against Cambridge Place nursing home in Lexington. Cambridge Place nursing home had been ranked much below average and had been deemed a special focus facility prior to its sale to Kindred Healthcare, which took place after Ms. Hendrix left the facility. Cambridge Place has received the highest rating since it was sold.
A "special focus" facility means the the nursing home has a history of persistent poor quality of care and has been selected for more frequent inspections. If the nursing home listed below has a * next to the name, it is currently a special focus facility.
