Shelbyville, Kentucky (Shelby County) Car And Tractor Trailer Accident Claims Life And Results In Injuries

23 year old William A. Goodwin of Pleasureville, Kentucky sustained fatal injuries when he lost control of the Dodge pickup truck he was driving and collided with a semi on I-64 close to Exit 35 in Shelby County, Kentucky. Mr. Goodwin held on for over week after the accident before passing away.

According to media reports, the pavement was wet and Mr. Goodwin was entering the interstate from the exit ramp. After the collision, both trucks struck a concrete bridge abutment after making contact with one another. A second semi then struck the first one. The accident remain under investigation.

Let's hope that a full and complete investigation takes place and all potential factors are considered. It is very easy to just look at driver error as the only factor, but there can be many others such as poor maintenance or repair and defective equipment or components.
