NHTSA Reminds Consumers About the Dangers of 15 Passenger Vans
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has posted information regarding 15 passenger vans and the potential dangers they pose to its drivers and passengers. The NHTSA notes that "passenger vans handle very differently from smaller passenger vehicles because they are typically longer, higher, and wider. They require additional reliance on the side mirrors for changing lanes, more space, additional braking distances, and have a higher risk of crashes and rollovers if not properly driven and maintained." These types of vans are often used by churches and other organizations, but the NHTSA cautions that these vans should not be used in place of a school bus.
