Ikea Recalls Childrens Tents
The giant furniture store out of Sweden, IKEA, has announced a recall of a children’s folding tent it had sold over the last few months.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a statement that IKEA is recalling the BUSA children’s folding tent according because it said the steel wire frame of the tent could break, producing sharp wire ends that could puncture the tent’s cloth covering and possibly injure the tent’s occupants.
As far as anyone can estimate there were around 58,000 tents bought by consumers in the United States and Canada
The tent was sold for around $8, IKEA said. It is described as a cube-shaped children’s folding tent. The brand name BUSA and IKEA and the model number are printed on a sewn-in label attached to an interior seam in the tent. The tent frame is made of flat steel wire and the tent material is pale green polyester fabric with turquoise, pink and white trim.
According to IKEA, three incidents involving the tent have been reported world-wide, resulting in one minor injury. None of the reported incidents were in the United States.
Anyone who purchased the tent can return it to the nearest IKEA store for a fully refund.
