Fatal Wreck In Jackson County Kills One, Injures Two
A 3 car wreck in Jackson County Saturday afternoon killed 68-year-old Wanda Purkey of Berea. She was on her way to visit her family when she crashed head-on into a truck a few miles north of McKee.
The driver of the truck was rushed to the hospital. The driver of a third car was also hospitalized for a leg injury. Purkey died at the scene.
Dale Harrison of McKee was the man driving the truck. UK Hospital is reporting that his condition is still serious. Police say the other driver was not seriously injured.
It is unknown at this time what caused the wreck. Police are investigating. However, the families may seek to retain an attorney and their own accident reconstruction expert to get the answers they need about how and why this happened.
