Target Recalls Step Stools
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Target Corporation, announced a voluntary recall of its “Step Stools with Storage.” Consumers are advised to cease using said stools.
According to the warning the wooden step stools can break apart or collapse under the weight of the user, posing a fall hazard. It is estimated that overt 200,000 of these stools were sold gotten over twenty reports of the stools breaking or collapsing. Fourteen incidents involved children, seven involved adults, and five incidents where the user's age was unknown. Unfortunately, some of the injuries that have resulted from a collapse have been significant in nature.
The stools in question were sold exclusively at: Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from January 2007 through October 2010.
