Louisville, Kentucky Car Accident Involving Ambulance
Media reports indicate that a crash occurred between an Yellow Ambulance ambulance and another vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and 22nd Street. At least one person has been injured.
We have seen cases like this before here at Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger, and the question that immediately comes to our mind is whether the ambulance was on a run and following proper safety protocol and procedure. It is not apparent from the media reports whether that is the case. There are certain rules that ambulance drivers must follow with respect to lights and sirens, and if those rules are not followed, collisions at intersections can and will occur.
