Two Hurt in TARC/Car Crash
Two people were taken to University Hospital on Wednesday after a head-on collision between a TARC bus and another vehicle at English Station and Old Henry roads.
The two injured people were the drivers of the bus and the car. Both drivers were trapped inside of their vehicles and suffered serious injuries. The driver of the bus suffered a knee and leg injury and the driver of the Trail Blazer suffered lacerations to his face, trauma to his chest, and an injury to his right hand.
There were no passengers inside of the bus. North English Station Road was temporarily closed after the accident, but is now reopened. Police are investigating the accident, but initial reports point to the driver of the SUV crossing the center line.
When a person is injured while on the job, such as the TARC driver in this instance, that person will be eligible to file a workers' compensation claim. While workers' compensation will pay for medical expenses and lost wages, worker's compensation in Kentucky does not allow any recovery for pain and suffering. It is important to have an attorney look at your case when you have been involved in an accident on the job. Often times an attorney can locate additional sources of recovery from responsible third-parties, such as an at-fault driver. This allows the victim to recover the full amount they are entitled to, including pain and suffering for their injuries.
