Separate Louisville, Kentucky TARC Bus Accidents Injures Passengers
On Wednesday, a car crashed into a Transit Authority of River City (TARC) bus traveling on East Broadway at Barrett Avenue resulting in injury to at least four passengers. The intersection can be a tricky one. There is some evidence that the car ran a red light. If that is true, then the driver of the car would be responsible to any of the passengers of the bus who were injured.
On Thursday, a car slammed into the rear of a TARC bus stopped at a railroad crossing on Preston Highway near Oaklawn Drive. Two passengers on the bus and four in the car were injured.
Tricky is also a good word to describe what happens when you are injured on a TARC bus. Normally, all vehicles in Kentucky must have insurance coverage for no-fault benefits. However, TARC has decided to opt out of Kentucky's no-fault benefits law. So, the passengers will need to file claims with the Kentucky Assigned Claims Plan in order to purse no-fault benefits for payment of medical expenses, lost wages and replacement services, all of which are normally covered under the no-fault insurance coverage. The injured passengers can also make claims with the insurance company covering the cars at-fault for their damages in excess of the no-fault benefits and for quality of life damages not covered by no-fault benefits.
