Kentucky Lawmakers Should Pass HB 370 To Further Prevent Bullying In Kentucky Schools

House Bill 370 expands current legislation that bans school bullying to include a student's sexual orientation or gender identity, race, religion, national origin or disability. It offers specifics the previous law lacked, and also bans “cyberbullying.” Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, D-Louisville, says the bill gives school officials more authority to deal with bullies and bullying in schools.

The Kentucky House should approve House Bill 370, which was supported by a 21-1 vote in the House Education Committee. Then, the Senate should do the same.
