An injury accident involving a semi-truck on KY 70 near Bowling Green, Kentucky has resulted in serious injuries.
According to Kentucky State Police in Bowling Green, here’s what happened:
Steve Shaffer had his tractor-trailer stopped on KY 70. He was making a delivery at Tony Luttrell Horse and Feed. Mr. Shaffer and the owner of Luttrell Horse and Feed were flagging traffic until the traffic cleared so the tractor trailer could back into the driveway.
Mr. Shaffer had returned to his truck when Lance Hogan approached in his vehicle. Mr. Hogan’s vehicle struck Mr. Shaffer’s tractor-trailer in the rear. Mr. Hogan’s vehicle came to final rest underneath the semi’s trailer. The passenger of Mr. Hogan’s vehicle had to be removed by mechanical means and was air-lifted to the University of Louisville Hospital. According to KSP, the injuries were not life-threatening. Mr. Hogan was transported by EMS to the Medical Center at Bowling Green with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Steve Shaffer was not injured.
