Recent Recalls, Etc.
The following is a list of recent recalls announced by various government agencies such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA):
- Forever-Glo Cylinder Nite Lights that were sold nationwide from May 2009 - September 2010. An electrical issue may cause the product to overheat, smolder or melt, which could cause a fire or otherwise burn a consumer.
- 2008 Chrysler Town and Country and 2008 Dodge Caravan. A defect causing a water leak at the heating and air conditioner drain grommet could cause inadvertent air-bag deployment.
- NESCO American Harvest Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator. A defective electrical component can overheat, posing a smoke and fire hazard.
- Jogging Strollers imported by phil&teds USA Inc., of Fort Collins, Colorado. During folding and unfolding, a person's finger can become caught in the hinge mechanism, causing amputation.
- Sanofi-Aventis SA, France's largest drug maker, will send "Dear Doctor" letters advising that two patients who took its Multaq (Dronedarone) drug for artial fibrillation suffered liver failure. Sanofi will also change the warnings and precautions and adverse reactions sections of the package insert.
- Sanofi and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., its United States partner, recalled 64 million tablets of Avalide, a blood pressure drug.
