Tragic Auto Accident in Kenlake State Resort Park (Aurora, KY)

A tragic Thanksgiving Day wreck has resulted in the death of one man and serious injury of another at a Kentucky state park in Aurora, Kentucky.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff, Bruce Petty, 51, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, was driving his pickup truck on U.S. 68 when he ran off the road near the Engers Ferry Bridge and crashed into a row of trees at Kenlake State Resort Park. Mr. Petty died in the wreck.

A passenger, David Teed, 49, of Avondale, Arizona, was reportedly thrown from the cab in the crash and landed in the truck bed. He was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Police are saying they believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
