BCCJ Attorney Brian D. Cook speaks to Somali Immigrants a Kentucky Refugee Ministries
As part of the Louisville Bar Association’s Leadership Academy, a several month long series of lectures, programs and seminars designed to help create leaders in the local legal community, Bahe Cook Cantley & Nefzger PLC attorney, Brian D. Cook, participated in a public service project last week. The Academy curriculum incorporates a service project as part of the program. The group that Brian worked with chose to work with Kentucky Refugee Ministries by speaking to a group of local immigrants from Somalia. Other attorneys gave overviews of the criminal and civil legal systems in the United States and Brian helped provide examples of how each system works in real life by discussing the repercussions of driving without auto insurance. The program was well attended with several dozen people showing up to listen, ask questions, and participate in the presentation.
