Single car accident on I-24 in Hickory, Kentucky injures two

A rollover car accident in Hickory, Kentucky has resulted in serious injuries to the driver and passenger, Baylea Reeves and Zachery Allen.

According to Kentucky Police, Ms. Reeves was driving eastbound on I-24, when her auto went off the left shoulder of the highway and overturned several times. Her passenger, Zachery Allen, was ejected from the car.

The auto ended up facing West in the eastbound lane. Ms. Reeves and Mr. Allen both sustained what police are calling "multiple, incapacitating injuries." As a result of these injuries, both were air-lifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

According to police, it is not known why the car left the roadway.

Commentary by auto accident attorney Shawn Cantley [profile here]: "People often ask me whether folks injured in single-car accidents are entitled under the law to be compensated for their injuries. It depends on the exact facts, but a passenger almost always has a legal right to compensation for injuries, even when a family member was driving."
