Midway Kentucky man killed in Lexington auto accident

A tragic crash on South Yarnalton Pike in Lexington, Kentucky has resulted in the death of a Midway man.

According to reports, 52 year-old Howard Lambert of Midway, Kentuky was killed when his Chevy S-10 pick-up collided with a vehicle that had pulled out in front of him. Mr. Lambert was rushed to University of Kentucky Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the other auto, 57 year-old Robert Kandt, was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital with minor injuries and released.

According to police, Mr. Kandt turned left from South Yarnallton Pike into the path of Lambert, who was driving down Old Frankfort Pike. Mr. Kandt, reportedly, stated that he did not see Lambert's truck approaching.

According to reports, the truck's engine caught fire after the crash, and Mr. Lambert was pulled from his vehicle by other motorists who stopped to help.
