Toyota Update: Judge Gives Toyota 30 Days to Produce Documents
Last Friday, U.S. District Judge Selna gave Toyota 30 days to turn over roughly 125,000 pages of internal documents from previous investigations of complaints about its cars accelerating out of control.
Toyota fought turning over the documents but with this order will now have to comply. The documents were already submitted to congressional panels and auto safety regulators.
Over 8 million Toyota vehicles have been recalled worldwide due to these problems. Facing civil liability estimated at more than $10 billion, Toyota now struggles to overcome its now tarnished image.
