Morgan Woman Charged with Murder After Fatal Crash
Last month we posted about the Morgan County accident that led to Gerry Blackwell's death. Brittany D. Williams, the driver of the vehicle that struck Blackwell's vehicle has been charged with murder as a result of the crash, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
As stated in the prior post, Brittany Williams, was driving south on Ky. 7 at about 9 p.m. on May 31, when her car crossed the center line and struck Blackwell's vehicle.
Gerry N. Blackwell was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was driving under the influence of drugs, which, according to the Kentucky State Police, led to the murder charge.
Williams was arrested Sunday and was being held Monday at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
Legal analysis by Shawn Cantley [profile], Shawn's Mail:

Kentucky drivers are liable for the injuries they negligently or recklessly cause through the operation of their vehicle. In cases of gross negligence or reckless behavior the driver can even face punitive damages.
