Lexington, Kentucky Teen Seriously Injured in Car Crash
A 14-year-old Lexington boy suffered life-threatening injuries after being involved in a wreck on Nicholasville Road.
According to police, a silver Dodge Durango heading inbound was trying to turn left onto Regency Point off of Nicholasville Road. The driver of the Durango turned into a silver Chevy Trailblazer.
After the Durango flipped, the 14-year-old boy was ejected through a rear side window.
Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones attorney Larry Jones says, "Unfortunately, it sounds like the driver of the Durango failed to realize that he/she was turning into traffic. Whether this is a friend or a family member who was driving, it still constitutes actionable negligence and the driver's insurance company is responsible for paying for this boy's medical bills." Jones says, "This also provides a nice opportunity to point out that in situations like this, the boy's parents likely have underinsured motorist coverage on their own vehicles that may help cover the boy's damages. Oddly enough, insurance companies rarely remind their insureds that they have such coverage."
