Lexington Herald Leader Reports on Attorney Larry Jones' Wrongful Death Case
Attorney Larry Jones was interviewed by the Lexington Herald Leader newspaper in Lexington, Kentucky regarding the lawsuit that he filed against a bar that violated Kentucky law and continued to serve his client with alcohol after he was already severely intoxicated. The young man ultimately was hit and killed by a car as he tried to cross the road.
Larry Jones says, "In Kentucky, a bar has a statutory duty to refrain from serving alcohol to someone that a reasonable person would believe is already intoxicated. In other words, it is illegal for bars to put profits first and continue to serve patrons that are visibly intoxicated. Yet, bars do it all the time because they don't want to turn away paying customers. Bars don't make money off of the guy who has one beer. They make their money off of the guy who has ten or twelve, plus some shots."
