Freshway Foods Lettuce Recall

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall of Freshway Foods romaine lettuce that covers 23 states. Consumers are being warned to watch out for romaine lettuce served at the in-store salad bars and delis of Kroger, Giant Eagle, Ingles Markets, and Marsh stores. Freshway maintains that its bulk or prepackaged romaine lettuce or bagged salad mixes using romaine are not involved in the recall.

The lettuce is sold under the Freshway and Imperial Sysco brands in the following places: Alabama, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
