BP Oil Spill Lawsuits: Vacationing Kentuckians Beginning To Feel The Effects Of Spill

Even though the tragic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is playing out hundreds of miles away and seemingly would not affect citizens of Kentucky, the ripple effect is beginning to play out. Would be vacationers from Kentucky who traditionally flock to Gulf Coast beaches in places like Destin, FL and Gulf Shores, AL have become wary of the spill's effects and canceled or changed their plans accordingly.

Even though no oil has come ashore in those places, people seem to be reluctant to take any chances. One way travelers can keep updated is through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) website at deepwaterhorizon.noaa.gov.

Vacationers who are left out-of-pocket due to the oil spill may be entitled to make a claim for any money lost as discussed here and here.
