Park Hills, Kentucky Teen Killed In Alabama Auto Accident, 7 Others Injured
There was a devastating auto accident on I-65 in Athens, Alabama, on Friday that took the life of one Kentucky teenager and injured seven others.
According to state troopers in Alabama, an SUV with eight Kentucky high school seniors was attempting to pass a semi-truck when the vehicle ran off the edge of the road and rolled over.
17-year-old Maria Schaffstein of Park Hills, Kentucky did not survive the accident. She and the others aboard were seniors at Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills. The conditions of each of the passengers was not reported, but one passenger, Jessica Russo, is listed in critical condition at Huntsville Hospital.
