Texting While Driving Is Not Only Dangerous, But May Soon Be Illegal

The Kentucky State House of Representatives Thursday passed a measure tat would ban texting and text messaging while driving a car. The measure passed by a vote of 80-16. It now goes to the Kentucky State Senate for debate.

Texting is extremely dangerous while driving a car. It takes the driver’s focus and hands away from safely operating the vehicle. While such is not illegal yet, it certainly is indicative of fault when looking at liability in car crash cases. Auto accident attorney Brent Ackerson believes that attorneys need to subpoena drivers’ cell phone records when handling auto accident cases. This sort of evidence can prove that a person was negligent while driving and not paying attention to the road.
