Letcher Central Student Killed in Moped Accident

Sixteen year old Marlin Junior Sandlin died Tuesday when the moped he was riding on was hit by a garbage truck. According to news reports, he wasn't wearing a helmet, but other details of the crash were still being investigated.

Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones attorney Larry Jones says, "The news reports focus on the fact that this kid wasn't wearing a helmet. There is no such law in Kentucky. Plus, he didn't stand much of a chance given the size of the vehicle that hit him."
