Mirapex lawsuits have been filed against the manufacturers and marketers of the drug which is used primarily to treat the symptoms of Restless Legs Syndrome and Parkinson's Disease. The national pharmaceutical drug law firm Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones PLC is representing many of the victims of this drug from across the U.S. The lawsuits allege that Mirapex can cause compulsive gambling and other compulsive behavior in people who had compulsive problems prior to taking the drug. This claim is backed up by a number of studies from prominent medical institutions like the Mayo Clinic.

Mirapex belongs to a family of drugs called dopamine agonists, which affect the receptors in the brain responsible for pleasure and reward-seeking behavior. One of the side effects of Mirapex has been the development of compulsive gambling in people who have not had a problem with gambling before taking the drug. For example, a retired U.S. intelligence officer lost thousands of dollars gambling before he discovered that gambling was a Mirapex side effect and stopped taking the drug.

Compulsive gambling is only one of the compulsive behaviors that can increase in patients taking Mirapex. Other obsessive behaviors include excessive shopping, hypersexuality overeating, and others. All these obsessive behaviors stop immediately when patients are taken off of Mirapex or given a reduced dose.

The Mirapex lawsuits are being consolidated into a MDL (Multi-District Litigation). There is a time limit to file, so Mirapex victims are encourage to contact the national law firm of Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones PLC immediately by calling (866) 587-0002 or email by clicking here: mycase@bccjlaw.com.
