Deaths And Injury Result From Indiana Crash
Three people were killed and a child injured when a 22 ton steel roll fell off of a Kendall Transportation truck near Orleans in Orange County, Indiana while in violation of the law. The roll of steel struck two different vehicles killing both occupants in one, one in the other and resulted in the injury to a child.
The Indiana State Police issued a ticket to the truck driver for not properly securing the load. Police indicated that the truck did not have sufficient tie downs for the load involved.
Although the police are conducting an investigation, it is often important for someone involved in this type of accident to do their own investigation. Also, it is not uncommon for a trucking company or its insurance carrier to come to the scene of an wreck like this one to conduct their own investigation. In a very telling move in this case, the trucking company referred all questions to its insurance carrier.
Hiring a lawyer experienced in handling car and truck wrecks can assure a victim of such a wreck that their interests and rights are being protected. An experienced lawyer will know what to do in conducting an investigation to preserve evidence and determine the cause including uncovering any underlying factors at play that are not readily apparent.
