More Yaz Lawsuits Filed
In a move that had been anticipated for some time, more lawsuits have recently been filed against Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceutical for the birth control drug Yaz, Yasmin, and Ocella. The afore-mentioned drugs are birth control pills, all of which contain "drospirenone," which is the ingredient in Yaz that is largely responsible for it's effectiveness as a birth contril measure. Interestingly, drospirene is not often used in other forms of of birth control drugs, and many experts believe that it is responsible for the serious side effects that many women are experiencing while taking the drugs manufactured by Bayer.
The British Medical Journal has recenly released results of studies that indicate patiens having been exposed to drospirenone have a twenty percent (20%) higher risk of complications than individuals using earlier forms of birth control pills. Readers interested in knowing more should check archived articles in the New York Times, which recently ran a story on the effectiveness of Bayer's drugs in comparison to earlier birth control methods, which do not appear to pose some of the health dangers that those containing drospirenone do.
