Louisville Teen Seriously Injured in Hazing Incident
A Prospect, Kentucky freshman at Ohio University was seriously injured during an initiation at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house.
According to the Athens police, Pristera sustained multiple injuries including broken bones, a chipped tooth and bruises in the shape of hand prints. He was hospitalized after he was blindfolded and forced to consume large amounts of alcohol while being slapped around by fraternity members.
Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones attorney Larry Jones, who was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon at the University of Louisville, says, "This is ridiculous. Initiation procedures should never evolve into physical violence. These individuals who abused this kid should be punished. Moreover, I'd be interested to know where the fraternity adviser was throughout this ritual. Hopefully this young man will realize that friends (or brothers in this case) don't beat each other up."
