Kentucky Man Killed in Car Wreck on Dixie Highway in Louisville
A man was killed in Louisville's South End in a car wreck on Dixie Highway.
The car wreck just south of Greenbelt Highway around 8:30 in the evening. A witness told police the victim was preparing to pull out of a gas station parking lot when a pickup truck traveling south on Dixie Highway veered off the road and struck the victim's car.
The impact was so great that it allegedly sent the man's vehicle skidding 50 to 75 feet. Unfortunately, the victim was dead at the scene.
While news reports have suggested that the at-fault driver did not test positive for alcohol, no explanation has been given for what appears to be the driver's clear negligence. Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones lawyer Larry Jones says, "I've handled cases similar to this where the driver was texting while driving. It is imperative to act quickly to secure the driver's cell phone and texting records to prove that this occurred. Unfortunately, once an insurance company gets involved, they usually try to find a way to blame the victim for their own death or injury. It never ceases to amaze me how low an insurance company will stoop to avoid paying a valid claim."
