Kentucky Car Wreck Kills Two in Carroll County

Benjamin Edwards, 30, and Christa Edwards died in a two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning in Carroll County. According to police, neither was wearing a seat belt. However, as Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones auto accident attorney Larry Jones says, "Such determinations by police are far from reliable."

A Chevy S-10 pickup driven by Benjamin Edwards was eastbound on Ky. 36 about 2:19 a.m. when he lost control and hit an oncoming Ford.

Jones says, "In instances where the police say someone was not wearing a seatbelt, it is imperative to recover the on board vehicle data recorder or black box to determine whether the seatbelt was being used at the time of the crash."
