Follow Up On Toyota Vehicle Recall
In a follow up to what had been previously reported in this blog, the Toyota Motor Corp. has recently announced it will fix the gas pedal on approximately four million vehicles in the U.S. The fix is to respond to several complaints detailing a sudden acceleration issue that has caused serious injury. This is the Japanese auto maker’s largest recall in company history, and taints a reputation for its popular Toyota and Lexus brands for safety and reliability.
Owners of the vehicles affected will be notified on a rolling basis; the popular Lexus ES 350, Camry and Avalon models will be the first to receive recall notices from the company. The referenced three models account for about half of all of the recalled vehicles.
In related news, on Tuesday, Toyota also announced a recall of 110,000 Tundra pickups because of customer complaints in regard to corrosion issues.
