Rollercoaster at King's Island Causes Injury to Woman
A trial is under way involving the “Son of Beast” rollercoaster, one of the more popular attractions at the King’s Island amusement park. The park has conceded that a structural problem with the attraction caused injury to more than twenty (20) patrons, and has settled with many of the riders who were injured. However, in the case of Jennifer Wright the park has refused to accept responsibility for her lingering hip injury that was initially diagnosed as merely a sprain/strain.
The jury in this case will be asked to decide whether her serious hip injuries were caused by the buckling of the rollercoaster’s track, which caused individual carts to be tossed around with the riders inside. The ride was shut down again the past summer after a woman was injured due to similar problems with the track that injured Ms. Wright.
