An elderly woman, whose name has not been released, and who was a passenger in the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Buick and the driver and a passenger in the Mustang were taken to University Hospital with what were reported to be non-life threatening injuries. Authorities are still investigating.
Commentary by Kentucky lawyer Shawn Cantley who represents injury victims and their families:
"This is another sad story, and a reminder to all of us to drive safely, especially in the rain and inclement weather. It's still too early to determine who was at fault in this crash, but generally a person making a left turn has a duty to make sure it's safe to do so before attempting the turn. Obviously the passengers in each of the vehicles are faultless."
