Lexington, KY Drunk Driver Crashes Twice Causing Injuries

One common theme on Kentucky Injury Lawyer Blog since we began blogging about preventable injuries earlier this year has been the prevalence of injuries caused by drunk drivers.
In another example of this, a man was arrested early this morning in Lexington, Kentucky for drunk driving (DUI) after he caused two different accidents within an hour.
The second crash, resulted an innocent occupant of another car that this man crashed into being transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center. The extent of the victim's injuries were not reported, but it appears as if they are not life-threatening.
Police were dispatched to Whiteberry Drive in Lexington just before midnight after a white pick-up truck hit a mailbox, according to authorities. At 12:15 a.m. Monday, the pick-up truck, which authorities say was driven by 29 year-old Erick Revolorio, was involved in a collision with two cars at Leestown and New Circle roads.
Mr. Revolorio was arrested on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, no driver's license and no insurance. He is currently being held at the Fayette County jail.
Commentary from Shawn Cantley, a Kentucky lawyer who represents people injured in car accidents:
"Most accidents are caused by people who are doing something irresponsible, like driving under the influence of alcohol or a prescription, looking at their cell phone, etc. And, unfortunately, irresponsible people are less likely to be carrying liability insurance—as this case demonstrates. That’s why I advise everyone I know to carry as much Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist coverage as you can get to protect you from irresponsible drivers. Most people are surprised how inexpensive these coverages are.”
"Also, often times people have other insurance policies that they do not realize provide Uninsured Motorist coverage for their accident. For example, under certain circumstances a person can 'stack' Uninsured Motorist coverage from different cars in the family. Whenever a person is involved in an accident causing severe injuries, it's important to consult an experienced attorney to make sure you're receiving all of the insurance coverage you've been paying premiums for all this time."
