As you'll recall, a Louisville, Kentucky man has been accused of test driving a vehicle from Commonwealth Dodge at speeds in excess of 100 mph in a 45 mph zone. A Jefferson County grand jury indicted him with two counts of second-degree manslaughter last week, and he pleaded not guilty yesterday. Two people were killed when the Dodge Challenger driven by the man crashed into another vehicle.
We're interested in following this case because of the accusation that a sales representative, who was in the Challenger, permitted the man to drive at the excessive speeds, and what that might mean in any civil case the families of the victims might pursue. If proven true, the sales representative and his employer potentially could also be held responsible.
