Louisville Bicycle Accident Death: Cyclist Hit By Truck
Virgil Lee Bishop, age 49, of the 5000 block of Quail Court, died Thursday after being struck by a red Dodge Ram pickup truck. Bishop was riding his bike on poplar level road at the time of the accident. To date, no charges have been pressed against the driver of the truck. Witnesses claim that Bishop may have swerved in front of pickup truck.
Personal injury attorney Brent T. Ackerson, who handles cases involving people injured while riding bicycles, states: “It is very important to fully examine the accident and even have an accident reconstruction look into the matter, because right now we don’t know who is at fault or what may have caused the accident and if this was something that could have been avoided. This is a serious matter in which a lose of life has occurred.”
