Truck vs. Motorcycle Crash in Wolfe County, Kentucky Kills 3
The Lexington (KY) Herald-Leader is reporting a fatal auto accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Wolfe County, Kentucky. According to the report, all three people involved in this tragic crash have died.
The report sites Kentucky State Police, who say that two men were killed at the accident scene and a woman died at the hospital later that day.
Details are sketchy, but apparently 29 year-old Kenneth Pierson of Stanton, Kentucky and 36 year-old Jason Patrick of Campton, Kentucky died in the wreck on Ky. 15 at Myrtle Little Hollow Road. 20 year-old Ronda Ann Bush, also of Campton, died Monday afternoon at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
According to KSP, Mr. Pierson was traveling north on a Yamaha motorcycle with Ms. Bush riding on back when Mr. Patrick, who was driving a 1994 Toyota pickup truck, pulled onto Ky. 15 from Myrtle Little Road into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The bike crashed into the pickup truck on the driver’s side door. Mr. Pierson and Ms. Bush were thrown from the motorcycle. Mr. Pierson and Mr. Patrick reportedly suffered severe head trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Coroner. The story did not report Ms. Bush's injuries.
Shawn Cantley, a Kentucky lawyer who represents motorcyclists and other motorists injured or killed in vehicle collisions said, "This is a tragedy all around which highlights how dangerous, and often deadly, motor vehicles can be and how important it is to follow the rules of the road and be paying attention at all times when we drive. Motorcycles are often difficult to see unless we're being diligent and paying close attention while we're driving."
