Six year old killed in dirt bike accident.

A six year old girl, Grace Scarlett, was killed Saturday while riding a Honda 400. It has been reported that Grace was riding the off road motorcycle as a passenger. She had a helmet on, but was killed when the dirt bike flipped over as it attempted to climb a steep incline. Officers who arrived on the scene attempted to revive her with CPR, but she was pronounced dead upon her arrival at the Hospital in Seymour, Indiana. The accident occurred in Brownstown, Indiana. The vehicle, at the time of the accident, was being driven by another minor child.

Motorcycle accident attorney Brent T. Ackerson , a partner in the firm of Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones , says that, “As a father of two young children myself, my heart goes out to her family. She was wearing her helmet, but even these types of safety precautions can’t always make hazardous off road riding safe.”

Children are injured and killed too often by off road vehicles. These are dangerous activities where the risks get even greater when the vehicles are being driven by children who don’t understand the dangers.
