Longtime Oldham County Public Servant Killed in a Tractor Accident

Edwin Linnell Acree died after the tractor he was operating while mowing his lawn on an incline flipped over and pinned him on the ground underneath it. Ed, as he was known, began serving the public at the age of 16 when he joined a fire department and spent a long career as a firefighter, EMT and sheriff's deputy. Our condolences and sympathies go out to his friends and family during their time of grief.

Unfortunately, many Kentuckians and Hoosiers die each year from tragic accidents similar to this. Sometimes these accidents are the result of faulty design, manufacturing and/or maintenance of the tractor that could have been avoided, thus making serious injury and death a senseless and needless tragedy.
