According to reports, there was a two vehicle fatal auto accident over the weekend on US 68, about five miles west of Edmonton, Kentucky in Metcalfe County. The wreck resulted in the death of Kendon Horton, just 32 years old, and serious injury to his 12 year old daughter, Cassie Horton, who was airlifted to Kosair Childrens Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, and is reported to be in stable condition.
Kentucky State Police report a vehicle driven by 52 year old Floyd Lowe of Edmonton, Kentucky was traveling west on US 68. His truck left the roadway for unknown reasons, striking an earth embankment, overturning and then re-entering the roadway, where it was struck by a vehicle driven by Kendon Horton of Glasgow, Kentucky.
Mr. Horton was transported to TJ Samson Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His 12 year old daughter, Cassie Horton, was stat-flighted to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.
According to reports, both occupants in Mr. Horton’ vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Mr. Lowe, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. He was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. The collision is being investigated by Sgt. Jamie Heller with KSP. Sgt. Heller was assisted at the scene by the Metcalfe County Sheriff Department, as well as Metcalfe County Fire and Rescue.
