Ammonia Leak Exposure Causes Injury in Louisville, Kentucky

An ammonia leak in a Louisville, Kentucky building forced the evacuation of all those inside and injured at least three people. The exposure sent one person to the hospital. The leak seems to have occurred when workers were attempting to move an old printer that was hooked to a 100-gallon tank holding the ammonia.

Chemical and gas leaks can be dangerous and even deadly to people and animals in the vicinity, not to mention the damage it can cause to property. Property damage, serious injury and even death are unfortunately not that uncommon when such exposure occurs.

Louisville, Kentucky attorney Will Nefzger of Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones, who is experienced in handling these types of cases, said that it sounds like everyone involved in this mishap is fortunate and will make full recoveries. However, many others are not so fortunate when these types of leaks occur. A full investigation should ensue to determine if the leak was caused by the careless or reckless actions of others, and to determine if the errors can be prevented in the future.
