Three Killed In Two Separate Car Accidents In Central Kentucky
There were several car accident deaths today in Central Kentucky. Lex.10.com is reporting, "It was a deadly morning Wednesday on central Kentucky roads. In Bourbon County, police said Joseph Clines, 28, of Paris went off the road while traveling on Thatchers Mill Road, and slammed into a tree. LEX 18 was told Clines was thrown from the driver's seat over to the passenger seat and died at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle. Four people were in a car in Montgomery County that went off the road and flipped. One person died at the scene, and a second person was airlifted to UK Hospital. That person later died at UK. Two others were taken to a hospital in Mount Sterling. Police say alcohol and speed may have been factors in the Montgomery County wreck. So far, police working both accidents have not released any of the victims' names." http://www.lex18.com/global/story.asp?s=10623741
Bahe Cook Cantley & Jones auto accident and wrongful death attorney Larry Jones says, "In cases in which a vehicle occupant is 'ejected' from the vehicle, it is many times concluded that the occupant was not wearing a seat belt. However, what many people don't realize, is that there are many ways to determine whether or not someone was a wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. The high tech way to make such a determination is to retrieve the vehicle's 'black box' --a data recorder that tells various things such as speed at the time of the wreck, whether the airbags deployed and which occupants were wearing seatbelts. Also, an autopsy can reveal signs that the occupant was belted, such as belt burns on the shoulder or neck." Jones says, "Anytime there is a car accident that causes a death, all potential claims must be examined by those with the experience and know-how to identify the various at-fault parties."
