Elizabethtown Kentucky Fatal Motorcyle Accident

There was another motorcycle accident fatality yesterday in Elizabethtown Kentucky (Hardin County). This is the second motorcycle wreck in E-Town in past two weeks.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to respond to an injury accident on Silver Mine Road, about a mile west of Sonora at about 2 in the afternoon in E-Town Ky. According to KSP, a Nissan Altima, driven by Ronald C. Beavers of Glendale, Kentucky, was backing out from a driveway on Silver Mine Road when it was struck by a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle, being ridden by Alan W. Hazelip of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, on the right, passenger side of the vehicle. Mr. Hazelip reportedly flew from the motorcycle and onto the grassy shoulder along the right side of the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner.

Nobody in the Nissan was injured. "It is extremely important that people keep a lookout for other vehicles, especially motorcycles, when backing into traffic," said Shawn Cantley, a Kentucky motorcycle lawyer. "Bikers are very vulnerable, and when a car and motorcycle collide, it often turns out tragically for the cyclist."
